The performance of. a three-phase self-exited induction generator, using series capacitor for •coiapensation has been investigated in this dissertation. Analytical model has been obtained for a particular mode of series connection and the same has been verified experimentally.Experimental studies have also been performed to show the relative merits of schemes with and without the series capacitor compensation. An analytical procedure has also been formulated for obtaining the optimum values of series capacitance and the shunt capacitance . The study helps in the designing of a simple series capacitor voltage-regulator to be used In self-excited induction generator , which provides reasonable voltage regulation over the entire range of machine operation.en_US
