Abstract: "for paper making used in China, about 2000 years ago. Now a days in many developing countries straw is used for making of strawboards, which is a cheap packing material. Most of the strawboard Mills are located in small scale sector in rural areas due to availability of cheap raw material i • , straw and agriculture residue. The process of manufacturing strawboard is simple. Digesting straw with lime, beating to make pulp and board making are the three important operations involved. biormally sun .drying of semiwet board is resorted to the wastewater generated is of the tune of 100 K.L. per tonne of the strawboardproduced and having high BOD, COD and suspended solids. With implementation tJ of Water Act 1974, there has been stringent measures treat the effluent from these mills, before their disposal into river or on land. literature survey reveals that chemical coagulation with lime and Aerobic stabilization is the best combination for the treatment of these wastewater.
