For a rational design and evaluation of various pavements need modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio of a pavement material. Existence of heavier wheel loads makes an highway engineer to think in terms of fatigue of pavement material. There are several methods available for estimation of above properties under various conditions for different materials. The planning and implementation group of Ministry of Shipping and Transport of India, identified a research project entitled R-24 'Determination of E and Fatigue Characteristics of Asphaltic Concrete, Lime rlyash A r ~^ T4mnrrravel girl l reran nPminnt concrete in laboratory'. In the present investigation Lean Cement Concrete material was selected for estimation of above properties, which is a part of above research project. In the current study, three lean concrete mixes of 1:4:8, 1:5:10 and 1:6:12 (Cement:Sand:Aggregate) were selected for finding modulus of elasticity, Poisson's Ratio and Fatigue by using various techniques in the laboratory. Tests were conducted on various samples including cubes, cylinders, beams and slabs. The E value was estimated from 5 different tests which included both dest' ctive and non—destructive tests. The fatigue of lean cement concrete was determined by using beam specimens with the help of machine developed by CRRI. The results were compared and discussed with . that of other investigators.en_US
