Issue Date: 1989
Abstract: Evaluation of stability of slopes has been one of the most challenging jobs for a Geotechnical Engineer. In the present study, graphics packages for stability analysis of slopes and back analysis of slopes have been developed to present the results of analysis with graphics display. The 'Graph X' library of graphics subroutines is used to develop the graphics package. The graphics. packages are essentially interactive in nature. Variety of commands selected from on screen menu may be given for generating corresponding graphics response on the screen or on dot matrix printer in the form of critical slip surface or C-0 graph etc. Computer programs with graphics package are used to analyse some slopes. It has been observed that with the use of graphics packages, the designer gets a physical feel of the land slide problem. Typical results are presented in the form of graphs which are obtained directly from computer during execution of
