Issue Date: 1993
Abstract: The general practice in power system is that there are RT1Js, which acquire data from devices. The data is stored in database, which is then processed by computer and decisions are taken for action. However in present work a small hydro-power station is considered. and data is directly acquired by personal computer (pc). A software approach has been made for monitoring and control of hydro-power station parameters. The program or modules are developed for: (i) Acquisition of data through suitable interfaces monitoring, data storage a.nd display (ii) Processing of data for generation of control signal and send it out through digital to analog converter (DAC) (iii) Trend display of selected parameters (iv) Graphics In graphics, the general layout of hydro power station is drawn, which also gives dynamic as well as static information of status of power-plant i.e. energy outputs of generators, voltages, currents, temperatures, power, power factor etc. and status of circuit breakers and isolators.
