Linear induction motors have a geometry vastly different from those of rotary machines. There are various phenomena peculiar to these machines which influence their design, the values of specific loadings are different because of geometry and the unavoidable large air gap. This thesis presents a procedure for design of a low-speed double side short primary linear induction CCOU.rYk motor. An equivalent circuit taking into/ the peculiarities of this machine viz, very low leakage flux in the secondary large air gap, low flux density etc. has be established for determining the performance from the design data. The effect of variation of certain design dimensions on the performance Is investigated through number of designs.en_US
