Inspite of the apparent simplicity of the sharp crested triangular weir, the problem of prediction of discharge over them has not been overcome so far, since there is no formula available to determine the coefficient of discharge of a triangular weir. In the present study experiments have been conducted to find the relation of coefficient of discharge with the crest height and head over triangular weir. As it is known that surface tension and viscosity has considerable effect on coefficient of discharge at low heads, experiments were also conducted at low heads and with the help of existing relations for surface tension and viscosity with temperature for water the same were determined and used in the study. Finally predictor equations for coefficient of discharge have been developed which incorporates in it crest height, head over triangular weir, surface tension, kinematic viscosity and mass density.en_US
