The increased ownership and usage of individual vehicle have resulted in traffic congestion, hazardous journeys and environmental pollution. MODE CHOICE ANALYSIS, which incorporates the commuter behaviour and transport system characteristics is a useful tool In alleviating these transport problems. But this phase has received very little attention due to inherent complexities in collection of data, processing the data and calibrating an appropriate behavioural choice model and the limited possibilities of comprehensive data presentations. The application of computers for specific and isolated purposes has gradually developed into a new branch of dtd 1. gnthi s canbedefThëdas use of computers to assist in creation, modification, analysis and optimization of a design. CAD has many advantages like huge storage facility increased accuracy, quick retrieval and easy modification of design. The problems of Logit Model for Analytical Design of Mode Choice as described above have been dealt using CAD in this dissertation. Very limited softwares are available in international market for Logit modelling which beside, being hardware specific, devoid of graphic features. Hence solution lies in development of indigenous, integrated software. The developed software is a userfriendly, interactive and flexible in nature. The software is basically a comprehensive effort on the current methodology being used at global level and especially tailored for Indian needs. The software is written in FORTRAN 77, plotting work is done utilising PLOT 88 graphic facility.en_US
