Abstract

Using computers for analysis design and drafting of civil engineering structures is one of the most innovative field today. The easy availability of personal computers at a moderate cost have made a tremendous impact on the functions of the design offices, needing several multipurpose computer programmes for analysis and design of large complicated structures. Here existing computer systems for analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures are reviewed and simple computer programmes are developed for R.C. framed structures. An effort has been made to illustrate how a designer can optimze a design by using computer
