Abstract: Slope management is really a challenging task.It will pay to trek the whole road alignment before planing and design of walls. In the Himalayan, region one should be cautious all the time particularly in the loose debris area. Heavy retaining wall section are needed and enough depth of foundation with proper. toe protection has to be provided. Hill road retaining walls are constructed on valley side of hill roads to add the required road width where the cost of hill cutting become higher than the cost of building retaining walls. This cost of construction of retaining wall is as much as 25% to 35% of the total of road construction cost. Experience has shown that proper planning of hill road section and choice of walls can save upto 50% in the cost of walls. Selection of proper sequence of construction is equally improtant in saving the time of construction and minimising degradation of environment. In the present investig,Lion, graphics package for design of rigid retaining wall and gabion wall have been developed to present the results of the analysis in more impressive way. The "Graph X" library of graphics subroutines is used to develop the graphics packages. The graphics package is interactive in nature. Variety of commands selected from on screen menu can be given for generating corresponding graphics response on the screen or
