Issue Date: 1988
Abstract: The monthly runoff from catchments is one of the important informations needed for the planning of the water resources projects. In many cases, long term data of monthly runoff are not available at the site of interest. However, 'the meterological data such as the monthly rainfall and mean monthly temperature are generally available. Methods available for such estimation of monthly runoff are available but these have not been tested with adequate ,data. Further some of these methods are quite sophisticated and need long term data. Keeping this difficulty in view in the present study the available data from 25 small catchments in India have been used to develop a simple deterministic model for the realistic estimation of monthly runoff from small catchments. Attempt is made to correlate the coeffi-cients appearing in the method with meteorological fact
