Issue Date: 1992
Abstract: The complexity of vehicles and equipments in the present day Defence Services is growing considerably high and the importance of equipment availability is a prime battle winning factor for the Defence Services can not be over emphasised. One of the important elements of integrated equipment management is reliability. This investigation deals with the study of estimating reliability of a vital sub-system of an automotive system. Adequate attention has been given to various mathematical modelling techniques while analysing the failure data. Immense failure test data were analyzed by using Weibull probability distribution, Regression analysis and test statistic used is Bartlett's test for significance testing. Conclusions were drawn and recommendations have been made accordingly based on the analysis done in this study.
