Issue Date: 1989
Abstract: Chemicals •are used for the treatment of water and wastewater in required.auantities. Chemicals are fed to the raw water through some feeding devices. Generally two types of feeding devices are used, - dry feeding devices and wet or solution feeding devices. The chemicals whose solutions can be easily prepared are suitable to be fed by solution feed devices which form the subject matter of the present study. For the present study two typical types of solution feeding devices have been selected - Ejector Type Device and Automatically Controlled Syphon Type Device. These devices were fabricated in the laboratory and various studies were carried out on these two devices and graphs have been plotted between measured parameters. The proposed type of devices can be easily fabricated and calibrated making use of the commonly available things. The two devices facilitate dose adjustment corresponding to the chances imposed on the raw water flow.
