dc.description.abstract | Side weirs have been used extensively for water level control in irrigation and drainage systems. Fa the computation of dis'charge over a rectangular side weirs De Marchis equation is very common, but its use in practical application is tedious. In this dissertation, numerical method is adopted for calculating discharge over a side weir of rectangular, triangular and circular shapes. For the solution of spatially varied flow equation, an elementry discharge coefficient Ce is proposed and the expression for the same is developed by using optimization techniques. A general computer program has been developed for calculating discharge over a side weir of any shape. | en_US |
