Title: MAGNETIC AND ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES OF TRANSITION METAL MATERIALS
Authors: Gupta, Ved Prakash
Keywords: PHYSICS;TRANSITION METAL MATERIALS;ELECTRONIC PROPERTIES;MAGNETIC PROPERTIES
Issue Date: 1981
Abstract: The present thesis reports some investigations on transi-tion metal materials concerning their magnetic and electronic properties. For the experimental studies, the main tool has been the Mo_ssbauer spectroscopy. Theoretical._ investigations deal with various electronic properties such as ionicity, effective charge parameters, dielectric constant and polari z ability etc.. .lso included in the thesis, are the tempera-ture dependence of energy gap and Van-Vleck susceptibility. Experimental studies have been confined to pyrite and pyrrhotite. Since all other materials studied ( rutile, layer type molybdenum and gallium chalc ogenide.s and chalco- pyrites) du not contain iron nuclei and therefore Mossbauer studies could not be carried out for these materials and only theoretical -investigations were done.
