Title: PLANNING OF GROUNDWATER DEVELOPMENT USING EMBEDDING TECHNIQUE
Authors: Patel, Devraj
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;ANNUAL WATER TABLE;GROUNDWATER;EMBEDDING TECHNIQUE
Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: A model based upon "Embedded Technique" is presented for planning of optimal crop areas and the corresponding groundwater development in a canal command areas. The model embeds the finite difference flow equation in a linear optimization in the form of linear constraints. The model has been applied to Ymuna-Hindon doab for arriving at the optimal cropping intensity ensuring that the average annual water table decline is restricted to permissible limit. The planning has been conducted for three conditions viz, no decline, moderate decline and severe decline.
