dc.description.abstractTo improve or mitigate problems in existing transportation system, planners are looking for different policy instruments to improve the dramatic rise in traffic congestion,- air pollution, etc. These Improved existing public transportation or introducing a new alternate mode of transport. Sustainable transport development is an immediate need with the following attractiveness: raised quality of life, integrating transport and land-use planning, low emission vehicle usage, reliable transport, relieved congestion through high-capacity services, aesthetics and secure station/stops availability etc. To achieve these objectives, a mathematical model is needed that is capable of modelling and forecasting travelling mode choice behaviour. In this study, a new alternative mode of travel Electric Vehicle is introduced in a small campus especially in educational campus. This study conducted a survey on Electric Vehicle, implementation with Stated Preference as a hypothetical tool at the IIT Roorkee, a high technical institute of India. Both Revealed Preference and Stated preference data was gather and was modelled using joint estimation approach. Travel time and travel cost attained level of significance. Life cycle variables are also found significant. The approach can work as a tool for transportation planners for evaluating new transport policy in the educational campus.
