Authors: Rajput, Umrao Singh

Issue Date: 2000
Abstract: The basic 'objectives of this experiment (i) to determine the crop evapotranspiration (E-rc) and crop coefficient (Kc) of rice, (ii) to test the effect of irrigation application on growth and production of rice, - (iii) to test the effect of nitrogen application on growth and production of rice on sandy loam soil. 0 To achieve the above objectives the experiment was laid out in factorial design and carried out during Kharif 2000 on Demonstration Farm of WRDTC located in the Campus of the University of Roorkee. The experiment consistedof-3 irrigation levels, 3 fertiliser treatments and 3 replications and laid down in factorial design., Observations were recorded at 20 days interval regarding growth and development, i.e., plant height, tiller number, leaf area index, dry weight and rooting depth in, each of the treatments. Yield attributes (earhead%m2), test weight of grain size etc. were recorded at the time of harvest. Grain quality is being analysed. The data recorded were analysed in factorial design using INDOSTAT GS. Daily weather data was also recorded from the agrometerological lab at WRDTC . Demonstration Farm and analysed for computing - reference evapotranspiration by modified Penman.
