dc.description.abstract | The use of soil nail wall constructions in the modern geotechnical works is rapidly gaining importance as these type of constructions provide flexibility, rapid construction and cost effective solution for reinforcing soil slopes effectively. A good number of soil nail wall constructions are taking place around the world every year. Soil nailing is an in-situ soil reinforcement technique and is useful in practical applications such as cut slope retaining and slope stabilization systems. It is an alternative method to other conventional supporting systems. Hence, these types of methods can be suggested for reinforcing soil slopes effectively. These are usually installed at a slight downward inclination to the horizontal. In the present study equations have been developed for analyzing the stability of nailed cuts subjected to inclined surcharge. A parametric study has also been done and the parameters considered here in are the height of the cut (H), length of nail to height of cut (L/I-[), angle of internal friction (1), nail inclination with the horizontal (a), nail cut inclination with vertical (a), number of nail rows (N) and back fill angle with horizontal (/3). 111 | en_US |
