Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: Due to increased level of industrialization the environment which protects human life is being destroyed at a very fast rate. There has been global demand to control air pollution. Among the various pollution control equipments, cyclone separators are constantly used in all those application where only a small portion of the dust to be collected is below 5 microns. In the present study an algorithm for optimal design of a multiple cyclone separator has been developed. A parametric study has been conducted to see the effect of discharge, grain size distribution paraTers, economic parameter and design efficiency on the optimal cost and the optimal cost of multiple cyclone separators has been obtained.
