Abstract: The study entitled "Improving the Productivity of Rice cv. Pusa Basmati-1 Through Irrigation and Fertility Management" was undertaking during kharif .1999 at the Demonstration Farm of WDRTC, University of Roorkee. The experiment was laid down on the Demonstration Farm in factorial design with 2 copper, 4 residual fertility, 3 irrigation levels and 3 replications. The dissertation prepared from this study consists of six chapters viz. Introduction, Review of Literature, Materials and Methods, Observations, Results and Discussions, Summery and Conclusions as well as the References. The Chapter I introduction deals with the importance of work and setting the goal of study. The Chapter II Review of Literature deals with the collection of literature relevant to the study being undertaken. The Chapter III Materials and Methods deals with materials used and methodology adopted in undertaking the experimental work. The' Chapter IV Observations deals with the recording and analysis of data obtained from the experimental testing. The Chapter V Results and Discussions deals discussing the observations of significant nature and arguing the justification of the occurrences. The Chapter VI Summery and Conclusions deals with summarising the findings and concluding the outcome of the work. References are the listing of all the literatures cited....
