Drainage congestion to important township area due to flood lockage in outflow stream is well known technological problem. In flow stream low pressure zones can be created by placing control structure across the flow such as weir, spillway etc. The scope of water drawal into negative pressure zone from a system outside the system producing the negative pressure zone has been explored in this dissertation. How much water can be drawn into and how much lowering of drawal level can be achieved depending on influencing parameters have been studied with experimental test model of free fall from a sharp crested weir. A primary effective model comprising of a deflecting wall placed downstream side of a sharp crested weir has been worked out on the basis of experimental studies to provide a hydraulic device for use as a water disposal outlet for a drainage congested area due to flood lockage....en_US
