Abstract: The main objective of this study is to carry out hydrologic planning of a river valley project with hydro-power as the main component. A proposed re.ervoir scheme on the Jambu Aye river in Aceh Province, Indonesia has been selected for the study.. Monthly river flow records (1972 to 1984) are processed to fill the missing records using W Langbien's Log deviation method. Log normally distributed Markov model with lag one correlation between monthly flows is explained. Sediment rating curves are developed for two sites. These along with the flow duration curves are utilized to estimate mean annual sediment load (histori-cal) and forecast of sediment load in next 50 years is made in consideration of expected land use changes in the catchment....
