Authors: Pradhan, Ajaya Kumar
Keywords: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT;EXPERT SYSTEM;QUALITY CONTROL;CONCRETE
Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: main objective of enforcing quality control is to ensure the requirements and intents of project plan, design and specification properly, so that desired. quality can be achieved. This basically requires a good combination of theoretical knowledge, practical knowledge and above all a good management. -- Now a days the computer software have been design to act more like human beings. A collection of Artificial Intelligence (Al) techniques that enables computers to assist the Engineers in analysis of problems and making decision called knowledge based expert system has recently proved its worth. To-days Expert system have been developed in many fields of technology. An expert system is an Al software incorporating a knowledge base and an inferencing system. The expert system attempts to duplicate the functions of an expert in same field of the expertise. The program act as an intelligent consultant or advisor in the domain of interest capturing the knowledge of one or more experts. Non-experts can interact with the expert system to answer the question and make the decisions in the particular domain. The purpose of the expert system is not to replace the experts but to make their knowledge and experience, more widely available. For many real world problems, an algorithm cannot be formulated and an expert system provides the best solution for such problem.
