Abstract: An algorithm for optimal synthis of a square grid-iron water distribution network has been develop. ed. The algorithm is based on Lagramgian multiplier method with an assumption of peizometric surface. Numerically the problem reduces to solution of a large rwnber of nonlinear simultaneous equations which Werr solved iteratively. The algorithm required special techniques for large systems
