dc.description.abstractFor centuries, population of the world have largely depended on mighty rivers for their livelihood, naturally, early civilizations were established and developed in andarround the river valleys. But unfortunately these same rivers have been migrating, and thus, sweeping and ultimately wiping out agricultural lands and cities, in their path. The manner in which rivers change the form and pattern of their charnnel has been a recurring theme in river studies for many years. Channel- migration or channel changes typically includes any change in river channel geometry with context to the cross-section, the pattern or network of a drainage basin.
