Title: COMPUTER MODELLING FOR BORDER IRRIGATION
Authors: Debnath, Amulya Chandra
Keywords: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT;COMPUTER MODELLING;BORDER IRRIGATION;SURFACE WATER
Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: Border irrigation is the method of application of surface water at the upstream end of a wide field with longitudinal slope or level land, and allowed to advance in overland flow, towards the downstream end. The -necessary framework for mechanisms for predicting application of surface irrigation requires precise description of surface irrigation hydraulics. This part of study is very sensitive to inflow rate and local parameters. In this dissertation, two approaches of border irrigation were adopted for modelling namely the volume balance approach and the Zero-inertia form of momentum equation of the Saint-Venant equation....
