dc.description.abstract | Applications of Expert System are now a days being felt and implemented in almost all walks of life. This dissertation is an attempt to develop a rule based expert system for preventive as well as breakdown maintenance of civil structures and hydro mechanical equipment involved in a hydroelectric power project. The data base consists of instruction collected from maintenance manuals. pertaining to different power projects and the rule base (comprising if about 1600 rules) derived from the data has been implemented by using the EXSYS expert-system shell. The system operates in an advisory mode 'offering 'the user solutions pertaining to maintenance problems that may be encountered in the various sub systems of a hydroelectric power projects. | en_US |
