This dissertation is an exersise in decision making with inadequate hydrometeorological data. Regional graphic approach is proposed to extract reliable information for scientific planning of small irrigation schemes. Water _resource projects . generally have a large project life of 50 t0 100 years, so the concept of inadequate .hydrometeorological data is rather qualitative. In general 50'- 100 years data may be considered. sufficient and 10 -:15 years of . data. is considered insufficient for reliable decision making. Aceh privince (Indonesia) wherein hydrometeorological data- for ..several ,. stations are available, has been selected for development and use of regional graphic approach in planning of small irrigation schemes. Multidisciplinary data requirement for planning of irrigation schemes is discussed (chapter 1). Emphasis in this dissertation work is on regional analysis of hydrometeorological data. The graphic analytic procedure is proposed to eliminate the need. for detailed investigations and data collection (thus save time, effort and expenditure) at first instance for prefeasibility study of a large number of minor irrigation schemes in a region......en_US
