Title: OPTIMAL OPERATION OF A RESERVOIR SYSTEM USING GOAL PROGRAMMING
Authors: Behera, H. K.
Keywords: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT;RESERVOIR SYSTEM;GOAL PROGRAMMING;HYDROLOGICAL
Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: Generally, the reservoirs are :operated basing on the fixed operation rules which are formulated using data from historical or synthetic time series of hydrological variables. But it is most unlikely that the actual inflows into the reservoir at the operational stage shall match to those considered while formulating the long term operation planning :of the reservoir system. It, therefore, calls for formulation of short term optimal operation policies as to meet the real life situation. This policy should be capable enough to achieve the long term goals taking care of the present conditions of the system.......
