Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: This study consists of deciding a suitable water using technique in Rice grown on Light textured soil. Since light textured soil has high seepage and percolation rate the 60 - 80% water from Rice is lost through it, thus increasing the water requirement and lowering the water use efficiency in rice. The experiment was conducted during Kharif 1995 (June to October 1995) on Demonstration farm, WRDTC, University of Roorkee, Roorkee. The experiment consisted of 4 treatments i.e. control (Ti), vertical barrier to a depth of 15 cm below ground (T2), Vertical barrier upto 15 cm below ground and one side of the bund (T3) and Vertical barrier upto 15 cm depth below ground and entire bund covered with the plastic barrier (T4) with 3 replications was laid down in Randomized block design. The plot was of 11 x 3 m size. In the experimentS RiceCV. Pant-4 was raised..
