Abstract: EXPERT SYSTEMS are computer tools allowing arrangement of nonnumerical, qualitative knowledge in a systematic and readily available form. In this dissertaion a rule based expert system has been developed to formalise IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT application. Essential variables have been represented by a series of IF -- THEN production rules. It provides an interrogative and advisory process which would facilitate decision process. Based on this, one can develop appropriate management policies.....
