The Ares ent day theoretical methods of computation of uplift pressures below hydraulic structures resting over permeable foundations are based on the assumption of two dimensional seepage low. This leads to appreciable errors in case of relatively small structures$ as observed. by testing the models, by three dimensional electrical analogy technique. The main cause Of variation in resulted is the Presence of water table and development of ground water mounds , behind the abutments of the structure. The analytical solution involves solution of three dimensional Laplace equation which is not possible. In this Study, the effect of various parameters on development of ground water mound behind head relators has been investigated by two dimensional electrical analogy technique. The curves have been developed to predict the water levels of the ground water mound at specified points. T is study will make It possible to represent the mound :n a three dimensional seepage study under such conditions.en_US
