Title: EFFECT OF PROXIMITY OF FREE SURFACE ON DIFFUSION OF SUBMERGED JETS
Authors: Mehrotra, A. K.
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;PROXIMITY SURFACE;DIFFUSION;SUBMERGED JET
Issue Date: 1974
Abstract: The effect of proximity of free surface on the behaviour of submerged axtqam.tric turbulent jets leas been investigated eperimental1. The momentum flux distribution In horizontal and vertical planes including the location of ma ua flux has been studied for various subsergences. The results have been coated with a lath iatical model proposed by Maxwell and , ash (11). This model uses the approximations approxiastions given by the 'offset Circular Probability function'. The suitability of the proposed model for predicting various flow parameters has also been discussed
