Title: CAUSES OF • WATERLOGGING AND REMEDIAL MEASURES - A CASE STUDY
Authors: Menaria, Jitendra
Keywords: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT;WATERLOGGING;RESERVOIRS;DRAINAGE
Issue Date: 1995
Abstract: Waterlogging is caused due to input exceeding output from the subsurface reservoir which may take place due to in-adequate and in-efficient drainage and poor irrigation practices. Waterlogging and accompanying salinisation renders land unfit for cultivation. The water table behaviour of the study area has been studied by drawing contours for depth to water table, water table elevation and fluctuation in water table of the area for different time period. The equation for rainfall recharge and rainfall has also been established for the area.....
