Abstract: Irrigation water can be distributed by three methods (i) Simultaneous distribution, (ii) rotational distribution and (iii) distribution on. demand.. In the present study, emphasis .is on improvement in design and implementation of rotational water delivery, through a case study of Lakhnauta Minor (Upper Ganga Canal). Rotational water delivery has relevance not only to canal 'operation but also for fixing conveyance capacity of the distribution net work. In India rotational water delivery is known as Warabandi, Osrabandi and Shejpali. 'Wara' means turn and 'bandi' fixation so warabandi means fixation of turn. Rotational water delivery as practiced in India is discussed in detail in Chapter 1. Based on study of literature and diagnostic field survey of Lakhnauta Minor, various field problems in design and implementation of rotational water delivery (technical, social, administrative) were identified......
