Abstract: Geographic Information System is an emerging technology with a wide range of applications, in land and water management.Computer based system of GIS generates more.valuable information from the existing data (maps digital) by overlaying two or more data based files. User can•apply a mathematical model for analysis of data and can get outputs in digital map/imagr form.Theimportant. ,contribution of GIS is in the handling of spatial data in which. user can visualise the lo-cation or areal extent- in the form of maps on computer monochrome screen. The Dissertation pertains to the. study of "Application of Geographic Information System in storm runoff modelling of a hilly watershed". Determination of storm runoff by using SCS curve number method is widely used to assess the runoff generated from small agricultural watershed. In this dissertation emphasis is on the application-of GIS in runoff studies usibg SCS runoff model.....
