Abstract: | Command area studies essentially aims at improving the efficient use of land and water resources. The fast growing rate of world population and its demand for food and fiber than ever before drawn an attention for bettor utilization of the existing irrigation potential as well as the creation of additional efficient irrigation systems. The study involves the analysis of various constraints and deficiencies prevailing in the command area. in doing sos to create an eff=iciently operating system, it requires detail information on different resources in the area under consideration. Normally, the information acquired for such studies are large in volume. Therefore, the requirement of a system which can effectively and efficiently store handle and analyze this information is indispensable.
