Abstract: The rapid advancement of science and technology and advent of fast digital computers have led to the extensive research in large scale systems. There are many examples of large scale systems which are posing a great challenge to both system analysts and control system designers. The mathematical procedure of system modelling often leads to a deLalled descrlpLion of' a process In the form of' high order differential equations which are difficult to use for analysis and controller synthesis. It Is therefore becomes necessary to find out some equations of lower order which can be solved easily and reflect the important characteristics of original model. Reduced order models and reduction techniques are being used for the analysis and synthesis of high order system, control system design, adapted control, etc. During the last three decades a lot of. work has been done to develop a general technique to reduce or simplify, high order dynamic system models in frequency domain and time domain.....
