dc.description.abstractThis study is aimed at developing an Expert System in the field of foundation treatment by grouting for water resources structures, especially with reference to dams in arriving at types of grouting to be taken up and also in knowing the grouting procedures, equipment required for grouting, tests for grout materials, additives and admixtures to be added to grout mix and analysis of water loss test results and grout intake all of which are required in the field of foundation treatment An attempt is made here to cover the above details in the Knowledge Based Expert System (IC B E S) of ESGROUT with reference to the IS Codes, reports, literature studies and discussion with site engineers. The applicability of ESGROUT has been demonstrated by considering hypothetical data of different structures with different site conditions. Based upon the stud; of results and other contents of ESGROUT, the Expert System of ESGROUT is found to be a great potential in the domain of foundation treatment..en_US
