Abstract: .Evaluation determines the extent to which the stated objectives of a project have been realised or likely to be realised. It assesses performance of an irrigation system in terms of programme costs, realisation of targets, agricultural productivity. Evaluation involves investigative scientific analysis of the process of programme implementation with a view to ascertaining, how far it is conducive to the realisation of the stated objectives. In view of huge investments involved, evaluation has now become an essential management tool. Evaluation also set objectives for future monitoring of system and helps in creatinj a management information system. An attempt has been made in the present study, to arrive at a methodology of evaluation of some of the important issue relating to the fields of Irrigation Management. The study also evaluate the status of multidisciplinary approach in realisation of stated objectives. With this view a comprehensive analysis of important parameters have been incorporated in the study.
