SOCIO--ECONOMIC STUDIES OF CONJUNCTIVE USE OF SURFACE AND GROUND WATER

Abstract

The dissertation presents the base line data on socio-economic study in a selected area of Shikarpur distributory under Lakhaoti branch canal of Madhyaganga project. The study is conducted in 5 villages. Thebase line data is collected through two sets of questionnaire and one schedule by personal ainterviews. Finally 45 farmers of various categories viz. 15 from marginal, 11 from small, 9 from medium and 10 from large size of land holdings. Data is collected at village level also. Based on the data collected, the socio-economic indica- tors such as family composition, land holdings, housing, food habits, livestock, education etc. are analysed.....
