dc.description.abstract | Quite often barrages are constructed across large and medium size rivers in India and other countries for diversion of flow for irrigation and power generation. The design of a barrage can be split up into two segments namely hydraulic design and structural design. The hydraulic design of a barrage involves careful selection of interi.cate para-meters like waterway, discharge intensity afflux which inci- dentally also affect each others.
