dc.description.abstract | At Khao Laem dam site, in Thailand, the foundation suffered from the presence of solution cavities in the lime-stone, bath mn.ssive and the inter-bedded ones so that excess-ive Ie-,kaee were expected to occur , I case history of the foundation tretment adopted at Khao Laem Dam is presented with critical review of the methods .4nd procedures adopted, The cutoff was constructed on the plinth foundation and in the 6 galleries which have total length of. 22 km on the right abut-ment. Various methods applied were an overlapping diephr.agm wall construction, a mining method, a 165 mm positive cutoff, flushing method and high pressure grouting. The purpose of the work is to study the suitability of methods for foundation treatment adopted in the project with regarding to efficiency, time schedule and economy'. 1longwith these the foundation exploration, dam foundation geology and its departure frm anticipated condition and foundation treatment design before and during construction are also discussed, | en_US |
