dc.description.abstractNeed for effective monitoring of hydro electric projects for their rapid implementation hardly requires an emphasis in the present power crisis. In most cases there are several causes attributed to the delays which sometimes are beyond the control of construction managers but what is forgotton to bementioned as a major cause for slippage is the lack of proper control and monitoring the works using modern management tools, apart, from adequate financial allocations which has always remained as a maj or bottleneck. In the case of most of the river valley projects executed during last two decades there has been slippages in completion schedule and the project monitoring for hydro power has come .under severe scrutiny these days due to delays.....en_US
