Issue Date: 1988
Abstract: In recent years, the growing dependance of the Society upon electricity have added dimensionless complexity to the power system planning and design,at every stage. The paramount responsibility on system utilities of transmitting and delivering the power effectively and satisfactorily from the generating points reinforces the need to maintain a reasonable balance inerformance between p generation, transmission and a distribu- tion system. Quantitative evaluation of the service quality, adequacy and performance through deterministic and probabilistic approaches has emerged as a major discipline now-a-days. The initial application of the techniques to the generating systems has been extended to the distribution systems as a re-cent development of mathematical modelling.
