Issue Date: 1969
Abstract: Design criteria for prestressed cable roofs have been examined. Study of prestressed cable networks has been made with a view to develop some design criteria and formulae. These have been obtained for symmetrical prestressed hyperbolic paraboloid networks, with straight boundaries. Using the recommended preliminary design formulae, the design procedure has been exemplified. The preliminary design is verified using an accurate method of analysis-Eras and Elze's method- for various conditions of loading
