EVALUATION OF PILOT PROJECT AND FARMERS PROJECT IN JAYAKWADI COMMAND AREA (MAHARASHTRA

Abstract

Jayakwadi Project in (Maharashtra) Aur•angabzd District is on river Godawari near P.-.ithan. This has completed in 1974 but initially this project was facing the problem of under utilis•ation. In 1977, Govt. decided to create a new Agency named Command Area Development Authority wi~ich is multi.• disciplinary organisation, Comprising of Engineers, Soil Scientists, Agronomists, Economists, etc._x000D_ While searching out the reasons for under utilisation, committee appointed by Govt.of India came to know that one of the most important reason for under utilisation was in-adequacy of the water distribution system. In order to remove this lacuna improvement programme was taken up in the hand for water distribution system.....
