Abstract: 28 m high Rarem dam was completed in Ic donesia on October 1933. It is a zoned section comprising vertical clay core of high plasticity and rock shells as resting on permeable tuff rock foundation consolidation and curtain grouting hare been provided as foundation treatment due to perviousness of foundation layers. Reservoir filling was started immediately after construction was over in three months time. Till then, there has been no drawdown. The instrumentation on Rarem Dam consists of pore pre-ssures measuring downs and vertical and horizontal displacement measuring devices. Observations on all instruments were ca-rried out from their date of installation till and of December 1935 except a brief break of 2-3 months....
