Abstract: Digital models are powerful tools in the hands of a • hydrologist in forecasting future events. A conceptual, • deterministic, catchment model may be used to produce a run-off series which can be perceived as the response of the catchment to a given precipitation input. This dissertation examines the adaptability of two such models, Tank and the OPSET-version of Kentucky Water-shed Model fbr Chaliyar basin in South-Western India, by calibrating the mad els and drawing intercomparisons..
